I have been a night owl most of my life and don’t know how to break it. I have major insomnia. I was taking melatonin but read something about it affecting the body’ natural ability to produce melatonin in the pineal gland. So, I went and bought a bottle of "Nature’s Way Valerian Root". The first night it worked. Thereafter if didn’t work. If anything, it had a negative effect. I read somewhere in a review that Nature’s Way is a weak form of valerian root. Can anyone recommend a good brand for valerian root? FYI, I’m not interested in prescription meds. Natural remedies only. I refuse to lie awake in the dark and go crazy when I can be online,watch tv or read a book.I am going to the doctor soon to be treated for this.What can I do in the meantime to make him understand? I have seen all of Nolan’s other films and have liked them all. I have heard mixed review about Insomnia though. My ex has been having problems with sleep for the past year. I don’t get to see her because she lives far away, but I know this is taking a toll on her life. I worry about it, knowing there is nothing I can do. Details: She is an 19 year old female who claims the cause of insomnia to be stress. Some nights she will lay in bed for a few hours and go into thought, but sleep never comes as it does for normal people naturally. Anyone have similar experience in this field? Is it always stress, or could it be something like a hormonal imbalance? What method should she take to reduce her stress? Any pills or herbal remedies that help? |
