Can bad sleeping habits in teens lead to insomnia?

Im 17 and I have horrible sleeping habits could this cause insomnia?

    If you have sleeping problems over a prolonged period, your likely to possibly develop insomnia. This is jjust because your internal clock is messed up because your body no longer has a designated time for its shut down (or resting) period. I’d recommend starting to try to get some sleep at more decent times even if it takes a while to sleep, it’s well worth it.
