How many hours of sleep does someone with insomnia get?

I know insomniacs have a hard time sleeping, but humans can’t stay awake for too long before experiencing serious health problems or even death. How many hours of sleep do they get?

Apparantly now they say you should get between 6 and seven hours a night. Eight used to be the magic number. I’ve included the link to the scientific article below.

Personally, being an insomniac, I can tell you that is a really good question you asked. Here’s to hitting the pillow!!!

They have all the sleep they had before they got insomnia, other than that I wouldn’t give them a hourly meter, most insomniacs I know either get 3 and are fine, or get somewhere between 5 minutes to half an hour and are always groggy irritable and kinda nuts.

you should try out uberman sleep schedule aka polyphasic sleeping. it is not dangerous and it is a very unique experience, staying awake for long periods of time, but maximizing efficiency of sleep through the use of multiple naps throughout the day. check out my blog as i document my experience.
