Is insomnia a symptom of depression or stress and how to cure it?

I’ve been insomniac for months and don’t know how to cure it, everytimes when I go to bed, I can’t sleep, I try to count sheep but I still awake. I don’t listen to music in bed ’cause I know it prevents me for sleeping….
What should I do?

Can it be considered insomnia if you have trouble sleeping for one day?

A lot of my friends stay up really late and they say it’s insomnia but it only happens like once a week or something.

Could being an introvert be related to insomnia?

As an introvert, I love my time alone. It’s the single best feeling in the world. Being a student, however, really takes a chunk out of my private time. I have little to no time to myself anymore, and my insomnia has gotten more severe as well. Is it possible, due to my lack of alone time, that my insomnia is worse because I try to make up for that lost time during the day?
